Financial support while studying at college

Young carers may be eligible for some financial support while studying at college, depending on their household income.

  • Sheffield College offer the 16-19 discretionary support fund - more details including eligibility criteria can be found here. 

  • Longley Park offer the discretionary bursary if household income is below a certain level - more details here.

Digital Resources for Carers

Carers UK have developed their ‘Digital Resource for Carers’ which brings together a wide range of content to ensure carers have access to useful information and advice on key areas including health & wellbeing, support, technology and caring, financial planning, and working and caring.

Grants website

Website with comprehensive list of funding sources for families on low income. You can search by type of grant (children, adults, holidays, equipment etc) or by condition within the family to find specialist pots for families affected by illness or disability.

‘We Care’ Financial capability resources for young adult carers

Currently unavailable but there is related information for young adult carers provided by the Learning and Work Institute
